卫生办公室
A full time Registered Nurse is available to attend to health concerns, illnesses and incidents that happen during the school day. A student who feels ill during the day, is to report to the 卫生办公室. She should not contact her parents on her own cell phone. The nurse will assess and, if necessary, contact the parents.
免疫接种:
Under New York State Health Law, new registrants to the school must present proof of immunizations to the 卫生办公室. 有一个 new requirement for meningococcal vaccine for students entering 12th grade. A total of two doses will be required. If students received their first dose on or after their 16th birthday, they will need only one dose. It is recommended that parents and guardians discuss the requirements and address any questions or concerns with their physician.
HEALTH APPRAISALS (PHYSICALS):
The New York State Education Department requires health appraisals (physicals) for students who are in 9th and 11th grade and transfer students. As well as students who participate in interscholastic sports in grades 9-12.
Health appraisals are acceptable if administered 不超过12个月 prior to the beginning of the school year in which the examination is required.
We suggest that the health appraisal be done by the family physician as he/she is the one who best knows the family. He/she is better able to judge any change or deviation in the child's state of health and can discuss any recommendations directly with the parents at this time.
